who’s afraid of Hindutva?

Mr. Meghnad Desai in his article ‘who’s afraid of Hindutva?’ (Indian Express, June 15, 2014) says, “What is Hindutva and why is it so dangerous as its critics want to make it out to be? At one level it just means Hinduness rather like Panjabiyat. Gandhiji thought Ambedkar lacked Hindutva, which was not far from truth.” 

Mr. Desai has shown his ‘biological’ inability to understand both Gandhi and Ambedkar. Let me ask some questions to this so-called ‘Hindu’ intellectual. Is it not true that for an average Hindu, ‘Hindutva’ means defending his or her caste identity, marrying his or her kids in the same caste they born and brought up? And if ‘Hindutva’ means just protecting one’s caste as per archaic laws of Manu-smruti, can’t we say that ‘Hindutva’ is anti-thesis of ‘equality’? We, Dalits, are really afraid of this ‘Hindutva’, that rules ‘medieval’ villages of India, where raping a Dalit woman is not matter of shame and where whole citizenry, including police machinery, judiciary and local leadership, whatsoever their political differences, gang up against Dalits. 

Mr. Desai does not know the shocking stats, thanks to upper caste prostituted media, that even under the rule of his ‘Hindu Messiah’, in Gujarat, 357 Dalit women were raped within span of ten years. Mr. Desai, we are really afraid of this ‘Hindutva’ that forces us to fight against Muslims without any reason, which compels us to buy the ‘hate’ spread by Sangh Parivar which is again an organization completely dominated by Brahmins. The 2002 genocide of Gujarat was not an ‘aberration’ as called by Atal Bihari Bajpeyi. Gujarat 2002 genocide was culmination of systematic hate propaganda unleashed by Sangh Parivar with the help of media and so-called civil society, which has been mute spectator to crimes committed against Dalits, Christians and Muslims. 

Mr. Desai, Dalits cannot be fooled by your shallow, stupid rattle of ‘Hindutva’. I suggest you to read at least two volumes of ‘the Great’: one, what congress and Gandhi have done to the untouchables? And two, Annihilation of caste. You are in London. Just ask your NRI (non-reliable Indian) folks, can they love Dalits? Do they consider Dalits as ‘Hindu’? India will not sink without your remittances. India will definitely find itself at the bottom of the ‘unholy’ pit of civilization, if it is not able to define what the real meaning of ‘Hindutva’ is.

Sub.: Arrest of self-proclaimed ‘Yog-Guru’ Ramdev for his vulgar, vicious, obscene and prejudicial remark on Scheduled Caste.

Respected Madam,

With reference to above subject, I like to draw your kind attention to recent remarks made by self-proclaimed ‘Yog-Guru’ Ramdev. On 26 April 2014 this person made vulgar, vicious, obscene and prejudicial remark for Scheduled Castes. His statement was relayed by electronic media and next day it was published in national news papers. The Scheduled Castes have protested against Ramdev’s comments and subsequently FIRs were filed in Lucknow, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. In Lucknow, (as per Times of India dated 28 April, 2014) the FIR has been lodged under relevant section 171(g) (false statement in connection with an election) of IPC.

It is really shocking and disgusting that even after nation wide protest and outrage and banning of Ramdev’s camps in Lucknow, the election commission in Gujarat has forgotten its duty to prevent Ramdev from holding his nonsensical ýoga’ camps, which are politically motivated gatherings to propagate only BJP. The inaction of Gujarat Chief Election Officer in this highly sensitive matter is nonetheless cause of great worry and concern for ordinary citizens like us. Because, an irresponsible person like Ramdv is roaming free and those who protest against his malicious comments are arrested. This is nothing but partisan attitude of Gujarat Chief Election Officer.   

So, we undersigned, representative of Dalit Hakk Rakshak Manch request you to immediately arrest baba Ramdev and ban his illegal activites in Gujarat.

Dear Aiyar, are you blind?

On December 1 2013, strongly pitching for Modi, Swaminathan S. Anklesaria Aiyar has written in Times of India, “What do they expect Modi can achieve as prime minister? Most say "Woh logon ko seedha kar dega" (he will straighten people out). This suggests a popular longing for decisive and purposeful governance, something ManmohanSingh has clearly not provided.
